General Tour Regulations and Policies
The tour is a non-profit making organisation. Any profit and surpluses will be used to maintain or improve the tours facilities. No profit or surplus will be distributed other than to another non-profit making body or to members on winding up or dissolution of the tour.
The following shall be the official regulations governing tournaments run under the auspices of the Masters Pro Golf Tour,( MPGT ) Tournament conditions may vary between different tournaments, any differing conditions will be advertised by the tournament committee.
The MPGT aims to host high quality professional golf tournaments for declared professionals and amateurs with a handicap of 9 or less, who have reached the age of 48 years.
At all tournaments we aim to provide prize monies to the leading players, usually approximately the top third of the field.
Additionally at each event there will a SUPER SENIORS prize, to qualify as a Super Seniors players must have passed their 58th birthday. Players who finish in prize winning positions in the main and super seniors events will only receive one prize, this will be whichever is the highest value prize.
The MPGT Committee reserve the right to invite other players who qualify by age.
Membership – The annual membership fee of £100 shall be paid by bank transfer in advance of entry. Non members shall pay an extra £25 per round for each tournament. Non members will not receive Order Of Merit Points.
Entry to The Tour Championship will be limited to those who have played in two events as a member in the corresponding season.
Entries – When there is a limited field for a particular tournament, members of the MPGT shall have first call on available spots, on a first come first served basis.
Entries for all tournaments will only be accepted when accompanied by the relevant entry fee in full, which must be paid in advance of the event, and only by bank transfer.
The use of buggies is allowed by all players at any event.
Tournament Withdrawal Policy
The withdrawal and refund policy will be as follows –
* Withdrawal more than one week before the event will receive a full refund.
* Withdrawal between one week and 72 hours prior to the event – 75% refund.
* Withdrawal between 72 and 48 hours prior to the event – 50% refund.
* Withdrawal between 48 And 24 hours prior to the event – 25% refund.
* Withdrawal less than 24 hours prior to tee time – NO REFUND.
Tee times – First round Tee times will be by a random draw and advertised at least 24 hours before the event. Subsequent tee times will be in score order with leaders going out last, these times will be published after each round.
Prize Money – In the majority of events we will pay out prize monies to at least the top 33% of players.
Additionally a separate fund will be created from only those players over 58 years of age. So that super seniors prizes can be awarded. Prize fund breakdowns will be advertised at the very latest before the first round has started.
All winnings will be paid via bank transfer within 2 working days. Please note that payments requested to overseas bank accounts will incur a charge of £35 to cover banking charges.
Prize Givings – When a sponsor is present, players in the top 3 prize winning spots must attend the prize giving which will take place immediately after completion of play.
Order Of Merit – Points will be awarded after each event as detailed on the website. Please note that points are only awarded to players who were members at the start of the event.
Players shall at all times conduct and present themselves in a manner which reflects favorably on the The MPGT.
All players must adhere to The Rules of Golf, and conduct themselves according to a high standard of golfing etiquette.
Players who conduct themselves in a manner which may harm the MPGT or its reputation will be sanctioned by the committee and risk being suspended from the tour.
No MPGT Tour player shall use ‘The Tour’ or any connected social media platform for advertising personal business or promoting other golf events, without the permission of the organisers of the MPGT.
The MPGT committee shall have the final say on all disputes involving MPGT Tournaments and player behaviour.
The MPGT committee reserve the right to amend any tournament conditions that are in the best interest of the MPGT.
Privacy – Entrants accept that we hold and process personal data in line with our published privacy notice.
